A satirical, gritty ink cartoon style drawing. In the foreground, a chaotic poker table. On one side, Mark Rutte and Mette Frederiksen look sweaty and panicked, clutching a map of Greenland. On the other side, a figure resembling Trump looks bored, pushing a stack of poker chips labeled 'TARIFFS'. In the background, unnoticed by the players, a gloomy window shows a bleak, muddy landscape of the Ukraine war. Dark, cynical atmosphere.

So, we almost had a war over a giant block of ice. Let that sink in for a second. For the last few weeks, the biggest news in the world was not the actual war where people are dying. It was about Greenland. The United States decided it might want to buy an island that isn't for sale. It sounds like a joke you would hear at a dive bar at 2:00 AM, but this is our reality. When the answer was "no," the threats started. Tariffs. Taxes. Economic pain. The leaders of the free world were acting like angry landlords fighting over a parking spot.

Now, suddenly, the show has been cancelled. The scary talk about a confrontation over Greenland is fading away. Why? Because Mark Rutte, the boss of NATO, went to Davos. He sat down with Donald Trump. He probably told him he was very smart and very strong. That is how you handle bullies in this playground we call geopolitics. You feed their ego until they forget they were mad. Rutte did his little dance, and now the tariffs are gone. The threat is over. We are all supposed to clap now.

Let’s look at the European side of this mess. The European Union had an "emergency summit" in Brussels. Imagine that room. A bunch of tired politicians in expensive suits, drinking bad coffee in the middle of the night. They were in a panic. They weren't trying to solve world hunger. They weren't fixing the climate. They were terrified because the American President wanted to buy some snow from Denmark. It is pathetic. These are the people running the world? They run around like headless chickens every time a tweet goes out. They have no backbone. They just react.

So the Greenland crisis is "receding." That is a fancy news word for "going away." Rutte met with the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, this morning. They likely high-fived each other because they didn't get crushed by American taxes. Good job, guys. You survived another week of the reality TV show. Frederiksen can go back to sleeping at night, and Rutte can pretend he saved the continent. It is all a performance. A bad one.

But here is the sick part. Now that the toy dispute is over, the world leaders have decided to remember the real war. The one in Ukraine. It has been four years. Four years of mud and bombs and misery. But for a moment, we all forgot about it because we were too busy looking at real estate deals in the Arctic. Now, the big headlines say there is hope for a "breakthrough." The US, Russia, and Ukraine are set for "rare trilateral talks."

Don't hold your breath. The "hopes for a breakthrough" are just words. They need something to put in the newspapers to make you feel safe. The Right will tell you that Trump is a genius peacemaker who fixed everything just by showing up. They think he is playing 4D chess. The Left will tell you that diplomacy is back and the adults are finally talking. They think a few meetings in a nice room will fix the world. They are both lying to you.

These talks are just three groups of people seeing who can lie the best. We spent weeks worrying about Greenland while the war in Ukraine just kept grinding on. It shows you the attention span of our leaders. They are like toddlers with shiny keys. One minute it's "Buy Greenland!" The next minute it's "Let's fix Ukraine!" They bounce from one crisis to another, looking for the best photo op.

Do you really think a meeting is going to fix four years of hate? Do you think the guys who almost started a trade war over an island can solve the most complex conflict in modern history? Of course not. They just want the credit. They want the history books to say they were the heroes. They want you to think they are doing something useful.

It is all a game to them. The EU is weak and scared, constantly holding emergency meetings because they don't know what to do. The US is loud and greedy, treating nations like properties on a Monopoly board. Russia is sitting there watching the chaos. And Ukraine is stuck in the middle, waiting for the rich guys to stop arguing about ice so they can talk about survival.

Buck Valor is tired. You should be too. Don't believe the "breakthrough." Believe that they will find a new distraction next week. Maybe they will try to buy the moon. At least then they would be looking up, instead of looking down at the rest of us.
